This was the BEST food that I’ve had all year! I’ve never had Haitian food before and now I’m hooked! I had the Fried Snapper with Black Rice and the Shrimp Plantain Cups. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! The fish was SOO flavorful, moist, and fried to perfection! I’ve NEVER had fish cooked this good in my life! The customer service here was EXCEPTIONAL!! The really take care of their customers! Everyone was so nice, attentive and you can really tell that they appreciate their customers!

Thank you Gou. Bon bon bon. Everything was so good! The service was warm and inviting. I don’t always get to eat Haitian food, so this was truly a treat! Everything was made to perfection, and the presentation was wonderful. The amount of food for the price is amazing. Definitely shareable. I can’t wait to return to try some of the other dishes. My husband and I came here with our friends, and they were extremely pleased! They too cannot wait to return. We had wings, Legumes, griot… and even dessert. Must try Gou!!!

This is the first Haitian restaurant I have ever tried in my life. With surprise I enjoyed every single dish I ordered: plantain griot and chicken in sauce. Both have superb texture and flavors that would surprisingly active your taste buds in a very good manner. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those who are willing to embrace the Haitian cuisine. A plus for this restaurant: owner/ waiter speaks French. It tells you the authenticity.

My daughter and I visited yesterday, we enjoyed each dish presented, the food is authentic, the drinks are amazing. (BYOB ) a little tequila or rum added to any of their cocktails turns it into happy hour, lol. We will return on one evening when they have live music, bravo gou mercie pour tout

First real meal after a flight. I searched up restaurants in PA and this was the first one to pop up, and I’m so glad it did. The food was hot and delicious! Love the Haitian soda and chicken wings! Jerk and sweet and spicy both had a great flavor. My favorite was sweet and spicy though. Rice and beans were soooo good! Rasta patsa was good as well. Plantains weren’t as good but the waitress said you have to eat them hot so I guess I was too focused on my wings they had gotten cold. My mom and I loved it so much we went back 2 days later with our church sisters after church and they liked it as well. One of my sisters is vegetarian and the waitress was super nice and helpful to her and all of us. When I go back to PA this restaurant will be hopefully one of the places I will be stoping at Lord willing.

Living in Philly for the past 8 years, it’s been hard to find a consistent Haitian restaurant. I’m so happy to have stopped by after seeing their IG post for Soup Joumou. Dining in was a vibe - great music selection, engaging and humorous staff. Tried out their Gou Lemonade Refresher, and it was sooo good! They gave a nice sized bowl for the soup. Will be back again for sure! 🇭🇹👏🏾

There is definitely something special about Gou. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was top notch. The atmosphere? Let me explain. Seeing a waiter dance to the Caribbean themed music as he takes a walk back towards the kitchen or hearing your waitress slash co-owner slash chef’s cousin speak exuberantly about the food she grew up on only adds to this extraordinary culinary experience. The complimentary pitas were something I didn’t even know I was craving. The passion fruit juice drink quenched my thirst in between the spicy but not too spicy bites of delicious Haitian food. The griot was well done, but not overcooked. The goat was tasty. The black rice was what I expected and perfectly complimented the main courses. The rasta pasta was bursting with flavor. Gou is definitely worth the trip.
